App Legal Notice
Effective date: 2026-03-06
These legal notices apply to the TheBetterPlate app and app-based services within the Better With Anna / TheBetterPlate ecosystem, including iOS, Android and app.betterwithanna.health.
1) Scope of the app
The app may contain features such as menu or meal scans, OCR recognition, analysis, tags, scores, general recommendations, saved history, subscriptions and further educational lifestyle functions.
2) Educational and lifestyle purpose
The app is intended solely for educational and lifestyle purposes. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy or emergency care. Outputs such as OCR recognition, tags, scores or recommendations may be estimates and may be incomplete or inaccurate.
3) Uploaded images and scan processing
If you upload images of meals or menus, you confirm that you are entitled to do so and that no third-party rights are violated. Uploaded images may be processed for OCR recognition, analysis and other app functions and are deleted after processing. Maximum temporary technical storage is up to 24 hours.
4) Taking pictures in restaurants or other places
You are responsible for ensuring that taking pictures in a given restaurant, venue or other place is allowed and complies with applicable laws and venue policies. Better With Anna and TheBetterPlate do not verify this.
5) Optional location and price feature
If you enable the “Save location and prices” feature, the app may process precise GPS location from your device and menu item prices entered by you. This feature is intended to create anonymized aggregated price statistics and improve local recommendations. Restaurant names are not intentionally stored.
6) Optional improvement program
If you expressly consent, de-identified outputs such as extracted text or tags – but not your images – may be used to improve app quality, tagging logic and recommendations.
7) Subscriptions and purchases
Some app features may require paid subscriptions or in-app purchases. Payments may be processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscription entitlement management may be handled through RevenueCat. Billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds are generally governed by the rules of the relevant app store unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
